An update to the videos I posted yesterday: Harrowing 1st-Person Video of Joplin MO Tornado. Via memeorandumTornado-Damaged Joplin, From Above. All I can say is wow:
Plenty more pics at the link.

UPDATE:  Laura Ingraham: There Are Pictures of Devastation in Missouri, Then Obama Lifting Glass of Champaign
Bush would have been crucified in the media for the exact same thing.

LIBERALISM OF TODAY IS NOT THE LIBERALISM OF OLD

Modern day liberalism is nothing like the liberalism of decades ago.

Liberalism of decades ago was something more akin to a more modern day libertarian viewpoint. However, if your world view is that in order to have peace and coexistence on a global basis and there needs to be a global balance of power and economics, everything Obama is doing makes a great deal of sense.

The genesis of the view is that the globe is a finite pie, in order for someone to succeed, someone has to fail. This makes even more sense if you look at the modern liberals view when it comes to punishment of a crime, and the victimhood of the perpetrator. It is never solely the perpetrator’s fault, it is the fault of society as a whole.

In this view, regardless if someone succeeds or fails, it is the responsibility of everyone to provide a balance to the scale.

Look at the case of "climate change". This is not about the environment. The carbon credits took from the prosperous nations and gave to the non prosperous ones. This is about wealth transfer.

Look at allowing rogue regimes continue to develop nuclear weapons. This is not about safety and security; it is allowing others to gain power, thus tipping the scales into more of a balance.

As another case in point, look at the devaluation of the dollar. This is pure a tax on all Americans. It transfers wealth from our nation to others.

The dangers in this view affect everyone, regardless of political affiliation. But I think the true danger is a liberal not knowing what liberalism is any more.

Modern day liberalism is about power and maintaining control at the expense of the ones they profess to be helping.

Liberals have professed to be helping African Americans and Native Americans for half a century now. How are these groups doing? Right now, unemployment is these groups are higher than any other, alcoholism and drug addiction are higher than any other group, education is lower than any other group, and wealth is lower than any other group.

Liberals have been supporting these groups for half a century. I’d say the results are quite poor. But they have to be, as there is no alternative. If these groups were to succeed, they wouldn’t need help anymore. Liberals need racism, they need class warfare, and they need wealth disparity. Without it, they don’t get elected.

Viewed in the backdrop of Marx’s Paris Manuscripts, "the worker relies on labour to find money to be able to live; but he doesn't simply live, he actually only survives, as a worker. Labour is only used to create more wealth, instead of achieving the fulfillment of 'human nature'", the agenda becomes more clear.

This philosophy negates the fact that some people are smarter than others, work harder than others, have greater skills than others, are more fortunate than others etc. In essence, for all their pontification about Darwinian theory of evolution when the topic of religion or faith is brought up, they completely negate it in practice.

ANOTHER EMBARRASSING MOMENT ON THE OBAMA EUROPEAN TOUR

President Obama just does not seem to know when to stop talking, unless the teleprompter tells him "SHUT UP."

The President was toasting the Queen during a formal banquet at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, when he kept speaking during the UK national anthem. Normal British protocol states that you play "God Save the Queen", then the person making the toast is to speak.

After realizing his mistake, Obama set his glass down and may have had the most awkward look of confusion and embarrassment on his face during his presidency.

This was a another embarrassment for Obama on his 2011 European tour, following his limo getting stuck in Ireland and forgetting what year it was when he was signing the guestbook at Buckingham Palace.

While the Boss is Away the Children Must Play

It seems to me that no matter what the post is y'all need something to start you off in the morning. Maybe it's not the post, maybe its Deuce. Doug does a fabulous job and while he is working on his next post, I thought I would throw in this post until he's done. I can't deliver Deuce and the birds slept in this morning, so this is all I have. And don't sit behind your little square screens and grin. Did you really expect anything else from yours truly. Sheesh….

While Arnold is getting all the attention these days for his ten year secret, what an ass, it's taking some of the heat off our good friend Charlie Sheen, who has been replaced with Ashton Kutcher. Now I don't know if Ashton is replacing his character or coming in as a long lost third cousin who ran away with his half sister's first cousin 20 years ago just so they could live in peace and harmony. As you can tell I really don't give a shit.

In other news the famous, Mark Burnett, who started the domino effect on reality TV shows, starting with "Survivor" and then later "The Voice" and "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader" is now doing a five part ten hour series on The Bible. Why? I haven't a clue but he will re-create some famous stories from Genesis to Revelations. You go Mark. I hope, The Bible, is more fulfilling than 16 half nude men and woman surviving on a tropical island.

The Hangover Part 2 almost didn't make the opening show on Thursday because of a lawsuit from the artist who apparently designed the tattoo on Mike Tyson's face that was used in a scene, of The Hangover Part 2. The artist said he has copyrights since he designed the original tattoo, and wanted to be paid for the rights to use his art in the movie. He lost, of course, because Warner Bros wasn't using the tattoo to sell tattoos but was using it as a parody, which falls under "fair use" under the copy right laws. People will do anything to try and make money.

The Obamas met William and Kate yesterday. Yeah… You're right who cares.

And there is really only one pirate that is worthy of any ten year secret and that would be Capt. Jack Sparrow. Yummy….

PRESIDENT OBAMA STUCK IN 2008?

If you have been looking for an answer as to why Obama seems to be stuck in a never ending campaign mode, this picture may just be the answer. It appears the President is still living in 2008.

It is a great privilege to commemorate our common heritage, and common sacrifice.

Barack Obama

24 May 2008

This is actually how President Obama signed the guest book when he visited Westminster Abbey on Tuesday, May 24, 2011. Can you imagine how the liberal MSM would have reacted if this had been George W. Bush.

NETANYAHU DELIVERS HISTORIC SPEECH TO CONGRESS

No teleprompter anywhere, merely the old-fashioned "practice makes perfect" typewritten notes and a glass of water.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu delivered an historic speech before a joint session of Congress on Tuesday. Netanyahu laid out his plan for peace in the Middle East, which includes a two state solution with the Palestinians, but maintained that Israel can not sacrifice security in the process.

"Israel will not return to the indefensible boundaries of 1967. Israel will be generous on the size of the Palestinian state, but we'll be very firm on where we put the border with it.

"Peace must be anchored in security.

"As for Jerusalem, only a democratic Israel has protected freedom of worship for all faiths in the city. Jerusalem must never again be divided. Jerusalem must remain the united capital of Israel.

"Israel will not negotiate with a Palestinian government backed by the Palestinian version of al Qaeda. So I say to President Abbas: Tear up your pact with Hamas! Sit down and negotiate! Make peace with the Jewish state!

"It is vital that Israel maintain a long-term military presence along the Jordan River," Mr. Netanyahu said. "Solid security arrangements on the ground are necessary not only to protect the peace, they are necessary to protect Israel in case the peace unravels," Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu received 25 standing ovations from Congress, which showed an unwavering support for the Israeli leader.

It's refreshing to hear straight talk without ambiguity, and being articulate enough to tell the facts as they are without any double-talk.

Benjamin Netanyahu should be applauded for his willingness to recognize the existence and legitimate rights of his neighbors.

Now if only his neighbors could pay the same respects and recognize the rights of Israel. If not, let the PLO take up their case with the U.N. I'm sure that bastion of double-dealing, low-brow political hacks will be as effective with this conflict as they have everywhere else in the world!

Netanyahu speaks of the greatness of his country, and it's mission on this earth. He defends it's people and history with vigor. He is open to negotiation but unwilling to put his country at risk. He speaks of defending his country at all costs. Israel has demonstrated that it will bend, but never break, and he clearly represents that view.

Our President goes on apology tours and blames the U.S., or some segment of it, for almost every world problem.

Whatever you may think of Israel or how/whether to resolve the problems of the Middle East, there is something in that contrast that is a "teachable moment"

Netanyahu was interrupted by hecklers in the gallery. How he and the members of Congress handled the situation is one for the ages and lead to one of the best lines by Netanyahu.

"I take it as a badge of honor, and so should you, that in our free societies you can have protests. You can’t have these protests in the farcical parliaments in Tehran or in Tripoli. This is real democracy," Netanyahu said."
